Floatation Therapy London
time for yue. float effortlessly in the nothingness, liberated from gravity.
60 minutes
floating provides a unique experience in today’s hectic urban lifestyle. in the quiet sanctuary of the float pod, nothing can reach you. the outside world is now non-existent. your focus can turn inwards where you can experience amazing things: relaxation, meditation, pain relief, creative thinking, problem solving, dealing with stresses and anxieties. drift away as you float effortlessly in our stylish float pods. with water rich in epsom salts, they provide a floating effect you would experience in the dead sea. in water maintained at body temperature, you will lose track of the boundary between the water and your body. feeling the liberation of no gravitational pull on your body as you float, is transforming. whilst floating, you are soothed into that state between being awake and asleep, your mind and body are unencumbered by the daily stresses and strains of daily life, leaving you free to explore and rejuvenate. luxuriate in serious relaxation —and later, an incredible night’s sleep.

step by step
before you leave home
avoid caffeine, shaving, eating too much, leave nice and early.avoid large or heavy meals beforehand. but try and eat something. if not, you may well spend most of your float listening to the sounds of your stomach.
avoid shaving or waxing directly beforehand as this may be irritating with the epsom salt in the water.
avoid shaving your face for at least 6 hours prior to your float and allow 12 hours after shaving your body.
you are not permitted to float whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
avoid alcohol, caffeine, nicotine or any or stimulants in the lead up to a float. these may interfere with your ability to relax.
do not use hair dye or fake tan. your hair must run clear in the shower.
remove your contacts prior to floating. bring a container to store them.
arrive a few minutes before your appointment.
take off your shoes, slip into some sliders. use the bathroom beforehand and switch your phone to airplane mode
pre float
lock the door, pull the blackout curtain for optimal conditions. get undressed and put in your earplugs, hang up your clothes to avoid them getting wet. take a shower while the pod is filling up, finish with slightly cooler water and dry off your face and body. apply ointment should you have any cuts and scrapes. put the fresh water spray bottle on the side handle in case you get saltwater in your eyes. make sure the room lights are off. use the white float headrest if you need extra support for your neck and shoulders. get into the pod and close the lid, there will be a small gap for ventilation
float
for a standard 60 minute session there will be 5 minutes of music produced by the talented thou alone and relaxing lights at the start and end of the session. press the assistance button on the right hand side of the pod twice if you require assistance. it often takes up to three sessions for you to experience or start to noticeably appreciate the benefits of floating. during the first session, play around and enjoy the sensation of floating. find a position that is comfortable for you. for the next two sessions, just try and completely let go and relax. use a neck rest if you wish. you will be surprised at how far you have to tilt your head back to completely relax. try floating your hands interlocked behind the back of your head with your chest pushed out or with your arms by your sides. after three floats, you can start to be more focused with each session. write pre float intentions, use different meditation techniques, try different audio and try longer sessions. ultimately, there’s no wrong way to float. keep the lights off. or turn them on. listen to music or float in silence. leave immediately or hang out after in the lounge. you float any way you like. it’s what works best for you.
post float
at the end of the session have another shower and use the green bottle of vinegar solution to rinse out any salt from your ears. use styling station, with dyson hairbrushes.
60 minutes is our standard float session length
we also offer longer sessions

yes. the water in the float pod is 25cm (10 in) deep, and it is nearly impossible to accidentally flip over. the salt concentration in the water is very high and you will float regardless of your size or weight, because of the way the body lies on top, the water line does not approach the mouth or nose. if you were to turn over, the salt would sting your eyes and wake you. as you are floating, you do not need to be able to swim. you may exit the float pod at any time, and staff are always present on site to assist you.
-
yes, the float spa pod lid can be left in any position between fully open and fully closed, thanks to the innovative lid design and mechanism.
-
the float spa pods we use provide unparalleled hygiene, due to the external water reservoir tank and complex, multi stage water cleaning filtration system. after each float session the float pod automatically empties into an external reservoir. the pod is manually cleaned by us and the total volume of water is automatically cleaned and filtered using: two types of filters, uv and hydrogen peroxide. we do not use chlorine in the solution.
-
nothing, just you. unless you have contact lenses, in which case bring a container to put them in while you float. if you want to wear a swim cap to protect your hair you would need to bring your own. we have some showercaps but they won’t prevent the salt water from getting to your hair in the float pod.
-
please get in touch if you would like your child to float.
-
pregnant women can derive real benefits from the experience as a result of the reduced gravitational pull on the body when floating. we do however recommend that you talk to your doctor before floating. we do not allow floating during the first trimester and after 2 weeks before your due date.
-
most people should be able to use our float pods. they are 2.32m (7feet 6 inches) long and 1.59m (5 feet 2 inches) wide. if you are over 2.2 metres (7 feet 2 inches) tall then you will be unable to use the float pods.
-
ask your doctor. if they give the go ahead then get in touch and we will do everything we can to facilitate your float. whilst we cannot guarantee that everyone will be able to use the float pods, we will do what we can to facilitate your float.

-
yes it is safe to float while menstruating if using proper feminine hygiene. if you are comfortable and can control your menstruation in a swimming pool, then you can do so in our float pods.
-
yes, we recommend bringing a swimming cap but as you are floating in salt water your hair may stick get wet. we recommend rinsing with water when you shower before floating and then afterwards rinse and wash with vinegar. dry your hair with the hairdryer provided round the corner once you leave the room or bring a hat to wear afterwards.
-
not until your hair is running clear in the shower. if you contaminate the epsom salt solution in the float pod, you are liable to pay the replacement fee.
-
please refer to the instructions you received with your piercing or tattoo regarding water submersion. you may need to wait for a period of time before floating. allow at least one month after you have received a new tattoo to consider floating in order to protect your art. if you contaminate the epsom salt solution in the float pod, you are liable to pay the replacement fee.
-
yes, due to the high salt concentration in the water, everyone will float on the surface and experience the weightlessness of this.
-
you may fall asleep, which is completely fine. due to the gravitational freedom and reduced sensory inputs one hour of sleep in the float pod is roughly equivalent to 4 hours of regular sleep.
-
it will sting a bit. but don’t worry, you can just use the water sprayer and a face towel to wipe off the salt water and then continue with your float session.
-
60 minutes may seem like a long time to be doing nothing, but that’s because normally we are continually doing something, continually bombarded with sensory inputs. time is often experienced in a different way inside the pod. often during your first float your mind may take a bit of time to adjust to the lack of external stimulation. but you should soon relax, completely let go and enter a place of tranquillity, where the time will fly by.
-
we don’t know what it will be like for you since it is such an individual experience. nearly every user reports having profound peace and relaxation, deep concentration and creativity. we like to avoid saying too much before you use the pod, so that you won’t be influenced by what someone else says. not only will it be different for you than it is for anyone else, it will be different each time.
-
no. the high epsom salt content of the water means that the water will not draw the salt from your skin and cause wrinkles like a long bath does. epsom salt has been used for centuries as a medicinal treatment for various skin conditions. it is nontoxic and is not harmful if swallowed by accident (although it does not taste good!). if the salt water gets in your eye, it is only irritating and can be easily rinsed out with fresh water. epsom salt is actually quite nourishing for the skin, which may feel silky smooth after your float session.
-
we have two state of the art pods by hungarian company float spa. combining an elegant natural inspired design with unparalleled hygiene, each float pod has its own external water reservoir tank and complex, multi stage water cleaning filtration system. before and after every session the float pod is emptied, the pod cleaned and the total volume of water is cleaned and filtered twice using four different methods. the pods also have the unique feature of an advanced opening mechanism allowing the lid of the pod to be left in any position from fully open to fully closed.

restricted environmental stimulation therapy (r.e.s.t.) is the deliberate reduction or removal of stimuli from one or more of the senses. research indicates that flotation r.e.s.t. can lead to reductions in pain and stress, lowered blood pressure, lowered levels of cortisol, and improved blood flow. it also seems to have positive effects on overall wellbeing.
-
yes. the float pod is located in your own private locked room with shower and changing area.
-
no, floating is a solitary practice. we have two pods so you and a friend or loved one can float at the same time in separate rooms and discuss your experiences afterwards.
-
nothing, please go textile free.
-
yes, but please allow a bit of time after your float to relax so you don’t have to rush. we recommend spending at least 15 minutes in our lounge after floating to fully come out of your float before going back out into the world. have some tea, reflect on your float and enjoy the tranquillity.
-
we offer 60 minute sessions. if you think that’s too long, try it out and see. time works differently in the float pod. if you have floated before and want to do a longer sessions, no problem, get in touch and we can arrange it.
-
floating is a practice. benefits are cumulative and often last beyond the day of floating. speak to us about what you are looking to get from your float and we can advise how often to float. you are likely to see benefits after only three sessions. you can then choose the frequency of floating that works for you; daily, a couple of times a week, monthly. you choose.
-
there should be no negative side effects to floating except in very rare cases.
